Privacy

This page explains the current implemented privacy boundaries in plain language.

Account and profile data

Znaide uses verified phone authentication. Profiles store display name, locale and onboarding state. The verified phone is read-only in Profile.

Circles, memberships and shared items

Circles are private. Circle members can see circle membership and active items shared with that circle. Drafts, archived items and owner-only items stay outside member catalogues.

Contact preferences

Contact preferences are self-only. Another member sees only enabled contact methods for an eligible item, and a target is resolved only after an explicit item-scoped choice.

Contact form

When you use the Contact form, Znaide processes the phone number, email address, message and optional screenshot or image you provide so we can receive and respond to your request. The submission is delivered to Znaide through the configured Telegram messaging service.

Website preferences and optional analytics

The public website uses a host-only language preference cookie and a separate host-only cookie for your analytics choice. Optional analytics through Google Tag Manager is blocked until you allow it. You can reopen Analytics settings on any public website page to change your choice; rejecting or withdrawing stops new analytics loading on later pages. Analytics permission does not enable advertising consent. These website preferences are separate from the authenticated app.

Private item photos

Item photos are stored privately and delivered through an authenticated no-store route that rechecks authorization. They are not intentionally cached by the service worker or Next image optimizer.

Borrowing records

Borrowing records, borrower identity, notes and completed history are owner-private. Other catalogue viewers may see only the public Borrowed state. A linked borrower may see a minimal current Home relationship while the handoff is active.

Account deletion

When account deletion completes successfully, Znaide removes your profile, owned items and their private photos, memberships and authentication account. Active borrowings must first be resolved, and you may need to transfer ownership of a Circle that has other members. Other users' items and accounts are not deleted. A completed borrowing record in another owner's private history may still include your name after the link to your account is removed. Deleting your Znaide account does not automatically remove messages already delivered through the Contact form to Telegram or conversations in external messaging apps. Service-provider records, operational logs and any backups are separate from live account data.

Invitations

Invitation links contain a raw token. The database stores only its hash and invite metadata. A valid token preview exposes only limited circle information before joining.

AI-assisted recognition

When you choose AI-assisted item recognition, either for one item or through Batch Add, Znaide may send a processed copy of the item photo and recognition instructions to the OpenAI API. Requests may be retried automatically after certain temporary failures. AI suggestions may be inaccurate: check and correct the details before publishing an item. You can also add items manually without AI.

Help us improve Znaide

We use optional analytics to understand how people use the public website. No analytics is loaded unless you allow it. Privacy
